NWLNHS has an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to work within the NHS as an Activities Co-coordinator to deliver a program of recreational activities and meet the needs of adults/older adults with Dementia/Confusion/Cognitive Impairment or any other mental health related issues within Acute General setting.
We are looking for a person who is able to work under their own initiative, to motivate and encourage patients within a positive and active environment. The post holder will assist in the provision of a varied and ongoing program of recreational and social activities for patients, this will be on an individual or group basis. The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team of wards; they will receive regular supervision by the Mental Health Team Lead with input from the OT team.
This post is to provide activities to patients. It will involve working 9am – 5pm on weekdays. Candidates should have an interest in group work with an understanding of the value of structure and activity in improving mental health. Experience in running groups is desirable. An ability to work positively with people with a mental illness/cognition decline and experience of working in health, social care or voluntary setting is essential.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
