London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust welcomes applications from people who wish to work part time or flexibly.

Applications are invited for a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join this fully NHS funded service based at Meadow House Hospice.  Ealing and Hounslow Specialist Palliative Care Service comprises a 15 bedded inpatient hospice unit, Day Hospice 3 days a week and a large community team working in the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Ealing which provides 7 day a week face to face visiting 09:00 to 17:00.

As a whole, the service comes under the auspices of London Northwest Healthcare University Trust and as such has links with hospital services at Ealing Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital.  Historically the service has very close links with West Middlesex University Hospital and provides consultant level input on the WMUH site. In addition, the service hosts the local Marie Curie Rapid Response Service serving LBE and LBH which operates 18:00 – 07:00 every day.

We wish to appoint a consultant to work primarily on the inpatient unit.  This is an 8 PA role and the successful applicant will join 2 full time consultants, one part time liaison consultant (LBH) and a full time Associate Specialist.  The role includes joining the one in five on call rota and the successful applicant would be expected to contribute to internal cover for colleagues working in the community or Day Hospice.

Close involvement with the end of life agenda, development and enhancement of links with local primary care teams and a commitment to education and service improvement will all be required in this role.

Applications will be accepted from Specialist Registrars who are within six months of receiving their CCST on the interview date. Interviews are expected to take place in October 2018.
