London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a dynamic and motivated Consultant in Elderly Care with a particular passion for managing frail patients presenting to A&E at Northwick Park Hospital, to join our acute frailty service.
This is an exciting opportunity to establish a service recently commissioned as a proof of concept. We are seeking a Consultant with an interest in frailty on a 6 month fixed term basis in the first instance, with the possibility to extend and an interest in recruiting substantively.
London North West University Healthcare serves a diverse population of about 850,000 and employs around 9000 staff. Northwick Park Hospital has one of the busiest A&E's in the country and the acute frailty service is geared to avoid unnecessary admissions and reduce length of stay of our frail elders.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team delivering excellent, patient-centered care across acute and elderly care medicine, rehabilitation and community services. The successful applicant will join a wider department of 11 Consultant colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.
We recognise that Geriatricians are key to the ongoing development of services which will provide the best possible, evidence-based care for our frail and elderly population. You will be encouraged to pursue an area of interest and be reassured that there is flexibility within the department to support each colleague in achieving professional growth and development.
