Through our clinically led structure the Division of Surgery & St Mark`s is part of LNWH NHS Trust based across three sites in North West London. We provide tertiary specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of complex conditions including bowel & breast cancer as part of this division. You will see from the Job Description the breadth of services within St Mark’s is varied which makes this role even more exciting to be part of with a focus on an expanding tertiary referral base in colorectal cancer as well as advance general surgery across three sites.
Following a review of operational structures at LNWH we are looking to recruit an energetic and innovative General Manager with demonstrable leadership experience to take these services forward.
The Division includes St Mark`s Hospital which has the world famous Wolfson Unit for Endoscopy (Clinical Lead Dr A Humphries) which is the only unit in the UK to achieve international recognition as a centre of excellence for endoscopy research and training. St Mark’s has a major teaching commitment. Educational courses are run throughout the year from the Academic Institute. The aim is to create a world free from the fear of bowel disease.
The division also manages the General and Emergency surgery & outpatient services across three sites (Northwick Park, Ealing and Central Middlesex) combined with Theatres & Critical Care, Head & Neck – MaxFax / ENT as well as TrustPlus which is our dedicated private patient unit.

St Mark’s hospital encompasses specialist teams for Stoma, Polyposis IBD and Biofeedback which are national and internationally known leading services and will form part of this exciting portfolio.
You will be responsible for ensuring the Division delivers its clinical services to the highest standard, achieving and maintaining agreed performance outcomes.
Working with the Divisional Clinical Director and Divisional General Manager you will be jointly responsible for patient experience, operational performance and improvement and efficiency across the Division.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
