The London North West Healthcare NHS Trust is a very busy unit with obstetrics and gynaecology taking place both at Northwick Park & St Mark’s, Central Middlesex and Ealing Hospitals Currently we have 5000 delivers per annum and we run a very busy unit with four specialised clinics for diabetes, pre-eclampsia, hypertension and haemoglobinopathies in pregnancy together with several ordinary ante natal clinics. We run 19 to 21 gynaecology clinics across both sites including infertility, urogynaecology, menopause, outpatient hysteroscopy, and colposcopy. We have twelve to thirteen operating lists across two sites per week. There is a very strong educational department with weekly SHO tutorials, weekly ultrasound lunch time meetings, weekly afternoon post graduate sessions and once a month a day on labour ward for “skills and drills” by rotation. This is an excellent post for general training and a chance to be involved in some specialist clinics which could be a good spring board for future applications.
