Consultant in Rheumatology/GIM– full-time (10 PA)

Established on 1st October 2014, London North West  University Healthcare NHS Trust is one of the largest integrated NHS Trusts in the country employing more than 8,000 staff with a budget of more than £640 million a year.  The Trust is the first Trust of its kind to provide complete hospital-based and community healthcare services to a combined population of almost 1 million in the boroughs of Brent, Harrow and Ealing. 

Our services include four major acute hospitals comprising Northwick Park Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital, Ealing Hospital, the internationally renowned St Marks’ Hospital in addition to community services across Brent, Harrow and Ealing.  

This post will be based at the Arthritis Centre on the Northwick Park Hospital site.  This centre sees approximately 1000 patients per month.  The majority of the attendances are for inflammatory arthritis and there are several sub-specialist clinics including a Spondyloarthritis clinic, Connective Tissue Disease clinic, Early Arthritis clinic, Biologics clinic and Metabolic Bone clinic.  There is a dedicated rheumatology daycare unit on site that delivers a full range of parenteral treatments.  The service is supported by specialist nurses in rheumatology, specialist physiotherapists, hand therapy, occupational therapy and podiatry.  The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the ongoing care of general medicine patients on a month on/month off basis.
